What's the right order to apply joints, groups?
It seems that Dreams is particularly finnicky when it comes to the order of operations. I have a kind of transformer I'm working on, and I can't quite seem to get the joints to behave like they would on a puppet. I'm not sure how I should build it up. Should I attach joints from the core outwards until I reach the extremities? Should I start by going out-to-in? And how should I group things and in what order in order to make sure everything moves as intended?
I've tried a bunch of different things and I can't quite wrap my head around it. I eventually got the leg I'm working on to be able to be rotated and animated as you would a puppet, but it required me going into a rabbit hole of subgroups to be able to pull the various joints the way I intended, unlike a puppet.
Any help would be appreciated!

Hi,
Joints should be connected from what's called "the parent" to "the child". Basically from in to out/big to small.
On a car the body is the parent and the wheels and doors are children.
On a puppet we start with the pelvis as parent and start connecting outwards.
So the upper leg is a child of the pelvis, then the lower leg is a cold of the upper leg etc

The hip bones connected to the leg bone, the leg bones connected to the knee bone.
The knee bone connected to the.. and so on and so on and then dem bones gonna walk around. ? -
Just so you know, you don't have to use groups at all, to set up the connectors properly. If you get the parent/child stuff right, then everything will work as expected. You can move a child and the parent will move to accommodate. You can rotate a parent to move all children. Etc.
