Thermometers

The detail of any given object within a level will take more processing power to show it or play it or whatever. More complex items (mainly more detailed sculpts) will be more processing intensive (drawing a ton of cubes nearby each other for a smooth line is more difficult to do than a single stretched out cube).

If you're having trouble with the thermometer, there is the Sculpt Detail tool to help you. It shows you where the more intensive areas of your scene are, and lets you automatically reduce the complexity in places you don't need so much detail for (eg. objects far off in the distance). https://indreams.me/guide/palette-glossary/assembly/tools/sculpt-detail

There is a variety of things that goes into the thermometer. For example, the gameplay thermometer seems fills up do to the sheer number of things in your scene. You can reduce the temperature greatly by "loosening" up your objects.

You can do this quickly by going to tools>sculpture detail, and press x and the trigger to listen up objects. The red objects take up a lot of space, and the blue ones do not.

    Hopefully that helps :)

The one level I've made was pretty big and fairly detailed. I used a total of about 20 different sculpts for maybe 2,000 objects? I think a big key is using sculpts that are versatile and using them to make as many different things as possible. Try to keep complex, unique sculpts to a minimum. Also when making your building block sculpts, try not to resize or reshape your sculpting tool, because I'm pretty sure that is an influence in the same way. Also, try to plan for keeping things loose when possible. For instance, if you try to make a detailed leaf, and add 1,000 to a tree, you're going to have a great tree, but it will soak up thermo. If you make the leaves out of a single sculpt or painting, you'll use less thermo, and be able to add more of other detail, and more trees as well.

Thank you for the help everyone. I was just confused, both of my levels were pretty similarly designed graphically and the bigger one with more complex sculptures was creating less heat.
