Converting between Angular Velocity and Degrees per second?

What is the relationship between the units of the output of the rotation sensor's angular velocity and the advanced rotators speed settings? The latter is definitely degrees per second. What are the units for the rotation sensor? Why are they not also degrees per second?

  I don't have the game in front of me to test, but maybe it's because the "angular velocity" output of the rotation sensor is the X, Y & Z components of the object's rotation all combined.
  
  Put the signal into a splitter and it should reveal the individual component angular velocities in Deg/s.
