L1+X over a gadget: highlight all wires in the scene going in/out of the gadget
I'll admit my logic can get quite messy. My fault, i get it, you're right :D
Still
Following each cable can get objectively hard when you have a lot of wires jumping between microchips (especially when L1+X on a wire somehow doesn't snap the camera to the proper receiving gadget, but only to the general microchip).
So, to make a web of wires easier to analyze, there could be a feature where pressing L1+X on a gadget will highlight all wires going in and out of that gadget, no matter where they go in the scene.
No only that: the feature could go and highlight even all the gadgets connected to the selected one. This would help, for example, if you highlight a mover and want to see every single wire and gadget affecting that one mover, no matter in which chip you placed each one.
This would certainly make my life a bit easier in my own-created chaos :)

Wait... have you never scoped-in to anything in Dreams? That's on L1+X; I use it all the time.
If you select a gadget, it will have a marching-selection outline to it, and all wires coming out of it. Could be cool if it also did that for wires going into the object, but it's already at least half done!
Also with "show invisible connections" on, when you select an object any animation gadgets (eg. keyframes) affecting the gadget show their invisible wires going to the selected gadget. So again, we're most of the way there.

Haha, of course you're right my bad! XD
2 years on the game and i still forget which shortcuts are already "occupied".Still, my idea was a bit different as you've already guessed. You could use L1+Triange eventually (or whatever combination), the point is being able to select a gadget in a microchip, and highlight all connections going in and out of that one gadget, following all microchips in the scene.
Basically it would be an "Show me the path from and to this gadget" feature, to help navigate complex webs of microchips and wires.
