Did you save the object that is being emitted as part of the group when you selected 'Save As New Creation'?If not, then I'd guess you may need to do that.

I'm sure you could do that but that now seems unnecessarily complex compared to just using the emitter as intended,...now that I've actually figured out what I was doing wrong.

I do this with a Selector.The Selector will only pass through one port at a time so you can never get two together. So you wire up, for instance, 'No Input' to port A, 'Up, to B, 'Down' to C etc......
