how do i fix a puppets walk default animation? when it walks it sorta floats and drags its feet around

when this happens
the puppet and the floor do impact each other.
no keyframes are on.
the walk and run speed are not 0.0.
the other animation options are set to default.

also how do i stop a puppet from auto climbing up small edges like auto climb stairs?

  Are the feet on the purple base? It doesn't matter where they are in relation to the actual "ground" but if they're above the purple base it messed with things.
  
  Try tweaking the "centre of gravity" setting to lower the whole body.
