How do I make curly hair?
I am currently recreating a clown mask I have in Dreams and I need to make the hair curly and extend right round the back of the head. What is the best way to do that so it looks like right. I have tried using the painting tools but they come out too thin and I need it to be thicker.

you may need to paint some simple curls, adjust the impasto of the paint sculpt. then scope back into it paint more curls, then move the pieces around to make it more bushy.
same method as if you were using shapes.
if you plan to it flowy id try making the whole thing in one rather than try to clone a small sample of it since the direction as it flow might be all over the place but test it out.
or doing one small bush and clone. you may need to test it out and see what is less on thermo.
also, adding some highlights or darker color of curls mixed in might help give you some more thickness/texture. -

Thanks for the tips Soukhachone. I will try that out and see how I get on.

for the picture. i used the circle flecks (you can try out the other flecks and see if you like that). experimented with changing the scatter/opacity.
drew a small clump of flecks to test. backed out and then opened the paint properties (L1 + Square, Triangle + Square for move) < i think that's the shortcut?
and adjusted the looseness, impasto. you can see it change in realtime. so you just adjust until something that might look like curly hair. after it look like something. you can then scope back into the painting and add more flex maybe different shape, color. each instance you of drawing you do is its own obj. so you can transform/move it around. that way you can add more thickness/volume/texture to the clump.
if youre going for the bald top, and just hair going around from ear to ear. i would consider maybe a ball shaped curly hair or make the base of it flat? or something that won't cause the "hair to clip through the skin when you make it physical.
anyways, i made a random clump of hair, cloned it around the guys hair just to give it some shape.
but yeah. you'll just experiment until you find something you like.
