How do I copy an object with many parts?

I have made a clown mask comprising many different parts and wish to copy it in its entirety. However, it only seems to copy some parts over and when I undo it I have to click on those missing parts only for some of the others to then ungroup/detach etc. What am I doing wrong here? Is there an easier way to copy complex objects without having to first click on each part to attach them to each other? Also can I post a picture of my object on here?

  Double tap X might be what you are looking for

  That groups everything including items not connected to my object together.

  You have to select all the parts and group them together. Then you can start moving it about and copying it.
