Unlink a possession recorder from a puppet?

  • Mm Dev 6 - Cat/Tom C

    Hi there,

I just took a look at this as with the possession recorder it records more than just the movement of the puppet, it also records the control sensor being used inside of the puppet.

You should be able to deanimate the puppet with triangle when the possession recorder is selected. And then also do the same with the control sensor inside of the puppet's microchip.

But it would appear there's a bug as when you select to deanimate the control sensor of one puppet you lose the animation lines and when you then remove the animation from that same puppet you then lose the animation from both ☹️

For now the simplist way for you to do it would be to clone your puppet in your scene before you animate it so you have a base one that you can clone in your scene to then animate it up each time you want to set a new one up.

If you know what I mean? I'll send over the issue to QA for you :)

    Thanks,
    Cat

Thanks for the response! Glad this bug came to light. I'll use that method from now on.

If I could make a suggestion though, it was never clear to me that pressing triangle on the puppet when I had the possession recorder selected would de-animate the puppet. Maybe just a pop-up like the recenter your imps pop up explaining it could work. It could be clear to other people though and I'm just being a bit slow.

    Hi!

There is a button prompt that appears if you select the action recorder/possession recorder/keyframe and hover over it's animated elements that have dashed lines on them.

And the button prompt says de-animate. Think of it as being similar to how pressing triangle will reset tweaks on a tweak menu to their default too. It'll set the character back to an un-animated default state :)

    Thanks,
    Cat
