Q about starting a scene with a cutscene.

  • Supposer

If you just leave it powered, it will play as soon as the scene is loaded.

I don't think you need the player to possess a puppet to start a timeline, it should just start going unless it's switched off or hooked up to logic that's keeping it from running (but I don't have Dreams in front of me at the moment to test that).

You can also set a puppet to force the player to possess it (I don't remember exactly where the setting is but I think it's on the second-to-last panel of the tweak menu for the puppet), you can also combine that with some logic at the end of the cut scene that lets them exit later, if you want them to be able to change puppets after the intro.

    Hi there!

A timeline as the others have mentioned will just play straight away as long as it is powered (can be seen on it's tweak menu if it's powered) and it will be set to sustain by default, so as long as it's powered on for the duration of your cutscene you'll be able to see it for as long as you've specified it to be.

It would be worthwhile playing some of the tutorials from the Dreams Workshop as although the logic is similar to LBP you'll find things do behave differently.

    Thanks,
    Catherine
