How do I modify sky brightness with triggerzones?

Hi,
I have a setup with a large triggerzone where all kinds of stuff happens when I enter it. I change the properties of some materials for instance.
In my final step I wanted to connect the sky brightness to the same triggerzone, but it only works when I would increase the value and not decrease.
I have tried all 3 different blend types for the wires but I am running out of ideas unfortunately.

What I want is: when I enter the triggerzone the sky brightness should reduce from 6 to 0.

I could make a workaround for this but then I would need to make a huge triggerzone over 95% of the level and sky brightness would be reduced when I leave the zone. But this can not be the only possibility.

  Attach the trigger to a key frame and store the change in the key frame
