How do I: preview music while creating?
I went to create music from scratch, stamped in a music timeline, and I’ve put multiple instrument clips onto the timeline. When I search for the music clips, I can hear them. But when they’re stamped into the timeline and I hit R3, it’s just silence. Ive got L3 to rewind and went into play mode. It’s all silent. Nothing plays. I’m not sure if this is a bug or something is just turned off. I went back to the music making tutorial to see if I was forgetting something, but I don’t think I am. I haven’t made any tweaks or anything to the timeline settings so I don’t know why nothing will play

This doesnt seem right. Maybe you have found a bug.
Just to be sure though - these are music clips and not music instruments (which are empty until you add notes)? -
Is the timeline powered on, and has some volume? Does the music clip have notes in it? If you scope into the clip and go to the piano roll and look at the bottom there should be a "play" button; does it work if you click that play button? There's a similar one in the timeline; does it work then? Is the timeline playhead actually moving? Does it move across the clip you added?
Is your TV muted?! XD -
"instruments" are just those - instruments! They don't play anything on their own - you have to play them!
There isn't currently a tutorial that shows this process actually. The tutorial in game teaches you how to stamp music CLIPS - but not how to record your own music with the instruments.
It's quite involved and I'm still tooling around with it myself. But once you stamp an instrument in a timeline, open up its tweak menu and play with the "perform" option (it will only record your performance if time is active and not paused). the other option is to switch to the "piano roll" tab on the top of the instrument window and place your notes that way.
