Drawing with precision

  • GribbleGrunger

I haven't done any accurate drawings by hand but I do know if you use the painting tool with snap on, it snaps to a flat surface of a sculpt. This is going to be a pain but how about making a bend with the sculpt tool that allows you to bend it freely, take a square (negative) and delete half of the bend you've made, making it flat on one side. Then taking a brush, lowered down to tiny and delicately painting along the curved flat surface. After you have your desired curved line, delete the sculpture.

Yeah, it's not ideal but that's how I'd do it.

Thanks for the help GribbleGrunger. I will try your suggestions and see if it helps.

I'm finding sculpting a bit of a nightmare to be honest. I'm getting better at it but at times it feels like a bit of a lottery.

I'm still not brilliant with it but i'm improving. Just stick at it.

You should check out the user Wargarble. He can give you tips how to set it up. Search for his stuff in game and see if that's something you're interested in

It's really not easy to do this even with Move controllers. I think it's a skill that needs to be honed, drawing in space is quite different from drawing on paper or with a tablet. It would be cool to see some examples of how the MM artists manage to draw the various really nice line figures in the game.

There's a line tool which is helpful in some cases.
