Is it possible to dynamically move the playhead on a timeline?
Attempt 1: Keyframe
It is not possible to add a playhead position in a keyframe. It was also not possible to add a trim arrow to a keyframe.
Attempt 2: Send a pulse number to the playhead
Although I can send a number to the playhead wired directly to it, this will only give me a stop on the timeline, it doesnt move the playhead there and then continue running. I thought I could pulse the power on the wire from a number displayer to the playhead to get it to move and then it would run, but a powered off wire stops the playhead from running at all.
So can I assume it is not possible to dynamically change the position of a playhead in a timeline that is running and keep it running from that position onwards?

Ah yeah. So, make a keyframe that sets the playhead (hold L1 while moving the playhead to record). Set the keyframe to "keep changes." Pulse the keyframe on. This will set the playhead position, and when the keyframe powers off it will continue playing from there onward. I have a tutorial that teaches this: https://youtu.be/gLZ-TcFQXhs?t=389

A timer set to positional will give you lots of control. You can output the percentage to the playhead and then control the position by sending values to the timer current time input. It makes more sense when you see it in action.

@TAPGiles I have been unable to get a keyframe to record the position of the playhead. There is nothing recorded.

LadyLexUK, did u sort it? if you hold L1 and drag the playhead using x it will record.

I use a timer set to positional to drive the timeline and they keyframe the timer value. But you definitely can set the playhead position using shift L1 and then tapping or moving it. It even shows the diagonals on the top “thimble” gizmo. The time does allow for more control options.
