Misleading geneology and credits

I don't get that happening to me at all. I stamp extra stuff in there all the time for testing, even save it locally (not uploading it or saving a local "version"), and then delete it before uploading the new version. But a lot of people say it happens to them.

I don't suppose you could do me a favour and capture this happening in a fresh scene, using the SHARE button? You can upload to youtube direct from the console if you like, and then post the link here. Maybe I can get to the bottom of what's causing it and be able to help people with this problem in the future.

It’s important to know that genealogy only fully updates when you save Online, if your most recent save is Local it may not be accurate. I’d do a private online save to make sure the genealogy has updated and hopefully it will appear as it should.

If you still have incorrect genealogy, there are two reasons I’ve had this happen:

1- a part of the community object that’s very small, invisible, or otherwise hard to see, is still there. Solution is to go into Update Mode and find the object in the Update list, choose the option to Select and then you can delete the thing for real.

2- the creation was Remixed when it had community assets in it, and you’re currently working on the Remix rather than the original. In this case, there’s no solution other than going back to that original creation and starting over from there. When you Remix any creation, anything that appears in the genealogy cannot be removed from the genealogy even if it’s been completely deleted from the creation itself. And keep in mind, the genealogy for that remix will not appear accurately until it’s been saved online.

Could you tell me more about "the genealogy doesn't update properly until it's been saved online"? I've not seen that happen, myself.

For example, if I make a new local scene and import something, then exit and save, are you saying the imported thing won't show in the genealogy?

Sounded like a plausible explanation as i first noticed it on a project i have only saved locally.   But then i looked at my published game 'Grandpa's Snowball Revenge',  Notice the character by

cammic2008 called, Snowball fight.  He doesnt appear anywhere in my game.

Well… I remixed your “game over” scene and went into Update Mode, and the Snowball Fight object does appear there. When I choose to Select Object there are two items that can be deleted - the the object does exist in your creation.

Also, this scene is in fact a remix of another scene which shoes the Snowball Fight object in it’s genealogy. So even if you were to entirely remove the object now, because one of your scenes is a remix with that object baked into its genealogy, the object will always appear in that genealogy.

the good news is that the genealogy is working normally and it’s not a bug :)

The start scene and end scenes were remixed from the main game scene.   I know i did stamp the character in at some point, but decided not to use it.  Unless you are telling me that he is stamped in there somewhere that i dont see....  ?   Maybe i did use a part that im not remembering... but i dont see it....

Yes, it’s still there. Go into Update Mode and there’s an option to select it, and then you can use the trash can icon to delete the object. This will remove it from the scene.

However two of your scenes are remixes that contained that object when the remix was made, even if you delete it, it’ll still appear in the genealogy. That’s just how Dreams deals with genealogy in Remixes.
