Saving scenes progress

    Hi MilaMojo

We're glad to have you here! There are a few different options to chose from when looking to save/release your scene. I can certainly appreciate these options might be a little overwhelming for the first time. Not to worry though, I can definitely help with this!

When you're looking to release your scene, as I said above, there are many options available. You can save multiple versions of the same creation and then chose the version you want to release to the Dreamiverse (if you want to, that is).

Release as Playable: This works exactly as you might think it does. Your scene will be accessible and playable by everyone but not editable by others. These can also be added to Dreams and Collections where both the scene and the creator (yourself) will be credited.

Release as Public: Discoverable, accessible and remixable by everyone. Once you've released a scene as public, you'll no longer be able to save subsequent scenes as playable. It's also worth noting, you won't be able to save a public version if you've included private content you don't have full release rights for.

There also a few other options, such as saving a version online but private, so only you and collaborators (if you add any) can access this. Another option is once you release your scene, you can make it Unlisted which will hide it from searches and only appear to those who have access to it (the creator and any collaborators).

You can find a very useful video we made on this topic here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KUSs9Vy-LA

I hope this helps, Mila. If you have any further questions or queries, please don't hesitate to post on the forums. We have a fantastic community who is always willing to lend a helping hand :)

    Hey Pookachoo...
Thank you so much for your pointed answer! Helps a lot :)! I assumed the scenes have to be saved as playable, but I wasn‘t sure if the nesting maybe also allows private scenes. The information that the scenes within a dream can be unlisted, but the dream itself can be listed nevertheless is worthful! Thanks again!

    Hey Tapgiles...
Thanks a lot for your comment! Interesting that the scenes within a dream are set to playable unlisted.
Well...there are things to know when you‘re quite new. And I wanted to avoid a release mess and unnecessary trash in my saving slots ;)....so I better asked people who are experienced with it.
    Thanks for all your time!

    Hello Ryan...

Ehm...didn‘t I post to the forum? Thought I did 🙈?!

Thank you so much for taking your time and write a that long answer! I
I almost don‘t dare to say that my question is still quite open 😉....maybe because of me, I‘m no native speaker.
I understand the different options to save or release elements or scenes. My question was more about how to save scenes for a dream:
If I want the dream - playable- do I have to save the scenes I want to put into it also as playable? Or is it possible to put private scenes into a dream which is supposed to be playable? And if I add a playable but unlisted scene into a dream, will the dream be listed?
So the question was more about the nesting: If the scenes within a dream always need to be saved with the same option than you want to save the dream. Sorry...I‘m afraid I can‘t formulate better in english ;)
    Thanks for your time!

    Best greetings,
    Mila Mojo

    I think I understand your question :)

All your Scenes need to be Playable. Anything set to Private can only be played by you, or someone you’ve added as a collaborator.

Unlisted is fine for your Scenes, you can still set the Dream to be listed. Other players will see the Dream on your profile but not the individual Scenes. That’s what I do.

You can always change your Scenes later to be Listed if you want. Hope that helps!

    Great answers

Just so you know, when you come to publish something, it will automatically show you what needs to be done to make that happen, and allow you to just confirm and allow it to do what is necessary.

So in this case, if you had a local or private dream containing scenes, etc. and you went to publish the dream, it would show a view with the scenes. Each has buttons to adjust how it will be published. By default each scene should be set up to be "playable, unlisted" but you can change that per-scene with the buttons. Then click the big green button to confirm all those settings and it'll upload and publish in the way you've set for everything.

This way, you don't have to worry about what is required, or to remember to publish them all separately. Dreams will help you publish the dream when you try to publish it. :D

I have a second profile that I use just for testing, so I can make sure my profile and creations appear the way I want for other players.

Also wanted to mention that if you have a Private Element, that can be stamped into a Playable Scene. That’s a little off topic but worth knowing :)

  • MilaMojo

Well...if private elements can be stamped into a playable scene, my question about the dreams wasn‘t too stupid 😆. Ok, good to know! Thanks again for taking your time and giving me this info !

  • Pookachoo

People say there are no stupid questions, and in Dreams that really is true ;)
