How can I test scoreboard to scene assignments in a dream? Ideally without using an alternate user account.
So, I'm trying to set up scoreboard to scene assignments in a dream, and I want to test them to make sure I've done it right. First, I try the following:
- Play through the dream until I post a score to the scoreboard.
- Wait a few seconds.
- Exit the dream.
- View the scoreboard to verify that the score is posted.
- Reset my progress in the dream to clear the "scene visited" flag for the scene to which the scoreboard is assigned.
- View the scoreboards again, with the expected result that the scoreboard won't be visible.
But, of course, that's not a valid test when it's the creator who's doing it, and the scoreboard is visible. Not a bug, just one or more of the following rules coming into play:
- Creator always sees all scoreboards. This rule does exist, and at present, it's necessary, because the scoreboard viewing page is where the creator's "edit scoreboard" button appears.
- Players with a score on a scoreboard always see that scoreboard. This rule could exist, but rule 1 invalidates any attempt by the creator to test it.
- Players who have played a scene that could have posted to the scoreboard always see that scoreboard. This rule could exist, but rule 1 invalidates any attempt by the creator to test it.
Rule 1 appears to make it impossible for the creator to test scoreboard to scene assignments without using an alternate account.
If it is testable without using an alternate account, I've no idea how to do that.
And if it's not, I'm still not sure how to do it.
Should I create an alternate account and add that account as a collaborator to a private published dream? Maybe, but if the "creator always sees all scoreboards" rule also applies to collaborators, that won't provide a way to test it.
Should I create an alternate account and send that account a link to an unlisted playable dream? Maybe, but to what extent does publishing unlisted really keep a not yet ready for release dream hidden? For example, do a creator's followers get pinged when the creator publishes something unlisted?

Yeah I'm not sure there's an easy way to double-check it's working as you want it to to be honest. But it does work as you think it does, pretty sure. https://tapgiles.com/docs/#creation-types-dream-edit-contained-scene-or-dream-assign-scoreboards
I believe if you publish unlisted by setting that on the publishing screen itself, it'll be unlisted from the start and followers won't see it. Though that's another tricky one to test 😅
One idea is to go on indreams while not logged in and look at the creation's scoreboard maybe? So you'd make it unlisted and then look at the scoreboard there. Don't know if that follows the same rules or not though. https://indreams.me/dream/mZQuZPjosFA/scoreboards/Conifer%20Crest/?players=1&type=everyone
