Ah, figured out the problem. Just gotta stop easing off of R2 while nudging; The DS4 has hair triggers and it'll toggle R2 on/off very fast if you ride the deadzone.

Ah! Just got it. Turns out, Select All --> "Enter speaker name..." does work, but only when using the PS4 onscreen keyboard to manually enter the text. Phew!
