And to change the proportions of a character you can use the stretch tool with symmetry turned on. You can also add volume by scoping into parts of the puppet and sculpting on top of them :)

You can go quite deep, but there is a limit of 100 open canvases any one time so from a UI/UX perspective I don't recommend honestly going too deep.Bogdan
