How do I destroy a bolt?
I want have two or more objects joined together. Then destroy or turn off the bolts so the objects fall apart.
I connected objects together with bolts but I can't destroy them or deactivate them. I tried wiring up their power to turn off, but when they're off the objects are still connected.
Should I try joints instead? I want the two objects to move as one when connected. I don't want the objects to move in relation to each other like joints on a puppet.

Yeah I hooked one up, connected it and nothing.

You might not need a bolt for the effect you describe.
Select both objects and group them. Create a timeline, then use an action recorder or keyframes in the timeline to record moving the group. When you get to the point in time where the objects should fall apart, add a keyframe and record turning the movable setting to on in the tweak menu of each object. -
If you place the destroyer gadget and use the affected target output directly on the joint it should destroy it. Don't use the shift to snap it to the object because then it defaults affected to the sculpture you put it on.
