How do I lock movement of objects to one axis when editing?
When editing, I find that I'm often wanting to reposition an object just in one direction -- such as moving a cube sideways along only the x-axis -- but due to the motion control it ends up out of alignment. Is there a way to lock object positioning with R2 so that it only slides along the specified axis?

A good way to fix this is with precise movement, typically it locks to one axis and can still be used to move an object on a different axis.

What SSGTSOULE said. Either use the precise move guide, or the grid guide with a fine grid spacing :)

Ah thanks, I'll have look at the precise movement mode. There's so many nooks and crannies left to explore!
