Remixing the basic puppet

I've finished all the sculpting tutorials so I want to make a character. Is the puppet an object or an editable sculpt? I guess I'm a bit confused on how I start modeling/remixing the puppet.

Hey there,

The puppet is editable but you will have to tunnel into it first so you can access all the parts sperately, keep hitting L1 and X until you are tunnelled into the limb you want to sculpt on

Can you bring in an external sculpt to a puppet? I was building outside of the puppet, not sculpting while scopes into the puppet
