Thermometer cost of paint vs stamp vs smear?
What has the less cost? 3 stamps, 1 smear in the same shape of 3 stamps, or a paint? I want to understand the correlation so I can build more effectively. Why does paint doesnt have a reduce cost option? Does that mean its the most efficient that it can be? Do smearing multiple shapes into a line costs more than placing them in stamps next to each other? I do know how the reduce detail works now, with red been the most costly objects, but how does the engine work? All I know is that its made of "nodes"?

Will have to get an engine coder to give a proper answer to this, but in general the less objects you have the better, so a single sculpt made of 20 stamps is better than 20 separate sculpts with one stamp in each, hope that is of some use!

If you mean stamping Vs smearing in a single sculpt, it should make no difference you could measure. Number of unique sculpts and how high resolution they are is what will really affect the thermo. But don't take my word for it. It's ready to do an experiment to confirm.
Regarding paint, an mm Dev did confirm that it's best to use coat instead if possible. -
As I understand it, smears are collections of many stamps. That’s what it looks like, anyway.
