Deleting parts of recorded sound
I recorded a rather large sample and I use a very small portion of it - for example, my tune uses 2% of audio but 16% of gameplay availability. I had hoped that zooming the slice to its start and end points was actually trimming the rest of the sample out of existence, but alas it's still all there. I can't seem to find any method of removing recorded sound short of deleting the entire recording and maybe trying to rerecord just the sound I wanted. What am I missing?

If you open the sound item you've recorded and trim the slice it'll appear below. Then you can drag that slice out, right onto the timeline and even save it as it's own object.

How do I do that? I don't see options for any of the steps you just mentioned and none of the buttons lead me to being able to Trim anything. I can set the start and end points for the play back, and I can zoom the display in to those points, which doesn't trim anything. There's no apparent way to zoom it back out.
