Set object XYZ world coordinates using gadget wires? Instead of using Mover?
it's the old school way of doing sprites ; - )
but being a music guy, I might sync the object X location to the Timeline position, for example.
Now that I finally understand wires, I am even more amazed...

You could use keyframes to record full-left and full-right. Then put that on a timeline, and add a linear tween. Now, depending on where the playhead is, those 2 positions will be blended more one than the other--meaning it will be more left or more right.
