How Do I Make Cuts And Keep Them In Place?
Ok, so this seems an odd question at this stage in the beta but I've been sculpting using the materials as they come and haven't added any finesses to my work. I'm now trying to do that but can't keep the cuts when I move what I've cut into.
I was making a shed and wanted old looking wood. I took an shape, made it negative and started cutting at the edge of a plank. It all looked rather good when I'd finished but on moving it, the cuts where left behind. When I move the plank back to its original position, the cuts reappeared.
How do I keep the cuts as part of the sculpt so I can then move them and clone them?

Yeah that was odd for me too, you have to scope out of the sculpt then move it and go back in (if necessary)
-
So you have to do each one separately? You can't sculpt one and clone it?
-
sure you can.... but as far as i know, you can't "drag" your sculpt around in that mode, cloning should be fine.
It's annoying at first, but becomes second nature pretty quickly -
So as long as I clone the item I've cut into, the cuts will stay?
-
Yes They should
