Medals or badges for Players and an Impy trophy for player of the year

So I haven't fleshed this out fully and I think some of it would be difficult to implement; however, I would like to see the players of Dreams get some recognition. Any dream that gets an MM pick and has a scoreboard, players can compete in these games for profile badges (like current #1 in this number of MM picked games, top 10 in this number of MM picked game, etc). I think the profile badges should be limited to MM picked games so as to not get out of control (e.g. people create random games with scoreboard so that they can win these profile badges). As for the player of the year impy, not sure what metric to use honestly. However, I do think it would be cool for a player to get that level of recognition and not just the creators. Thoughts?

    Interesting idea on the scoreboard stuff. They have a curated list of high-score dreams, so maybe they could add the feature to those.

    Yeah, I'd love to see players get more recognition. I've suggested a few similar ideas in the past. I'd love to see a better way of tracking your high scores and as you said some sort of badge or score system in place on your profile showing off your gaming prowess. There are so many ways to elevate the competitive experience by just leveraging scoreboards more within Dreams, I hope they expand there.

    If they declared say 5 different games, wiped their scoreboards and then had a deadline you had to play and your scores were totalled we could get a scoreboard and get a winner out of it. Or Mm could even make a game specifically to find the highest scoring player - maybe pulling in game mechanics from lots of games in the Dreamiverse to make a game called "Are You the Best Player in the Dreamiverse?".

    Great to see this mentioned on the forums! Players have been excluded from both Impys so far, and Dreams has almost always been mainly centered on the creation aspect. I've always wanted to expand on the playing aspect of Dreams in some way, but I still haven't taken much action yet (working on it!).

    High Score Wars (HSW) has aleady been hugely successful, with many players tuning in. And ItsAllstar is always curating the dreams for it. We could start there as a test phase, and this would hopefully not add in too much extra work either.

    During HSW, three dreams are played and broadcasted. We could choose one dream out of the three to nominate as the dream to compete in.

    1) HSW is on a weekly basis, which could easily be used as the time limit for the competition.
    2) During HSW, many players are also already playtesting and broadcasting the three dreams, which could lead to a quick community-jam-style voting to decide which dream is going to be used.
    3) Since HSW has always been held for only day, this would open up the opportunity for players to hone in on improving the scores they got during the event.

    Another option would be to use the Mm Picked dreams, as previously suggested. The Mm Pick of the Week could be the main nomination.

    Or, a new jam could be created with the focus on creators submitting dreams (old or new) they would like to see players compete in. Hopefully this method may even aid ItsAllstar and GAMEbuzzer on their High Score playlist curation.

    Yeah, the HSW are really what got me playing Dreams a lot more (even ones without scoreboards). I also think that the badges should be reflective of the your current status on the scoreboard meaning that every now and then you may have to come back and play to regain the crown.
