Community Jams Need Auditing
Voting in community jams is objectively un-fun.
Voter turnout must be fairly low for completely irrelevant submissions to rank higher in jam results than entries that are legitimate attempts at the prompt. I'm willing to bet that the reason is because voting has become such a poor experience for the player.
I propose that MM curators (Ally, Jacob, etc) do a first pass through submissions before they're shown to players in order to remove submissions in any of the following categories:
- Copyright/IP violations (e.g. Sonic, Mario, etc)
- Completely irrelevant (e.g. An empty scene, an element/sculpture of a heart in the "Make a choice" jam, etc)
- Break the rules of conduct (e.g. excessive violence, racial slurs, etc)
I beg of you, please trim the fat.
Your players will thank you, and your voter turnout will be much higher.
It's time to make the jams less of a joke and more of an interesting and prestigious event.

Completely agree this requires addressing.

Been saying this for at least a year. Hell, I'll do it for minimum wage, lol.

This is long overdue and desperately needed. The Jams as they are now are a massive stain on Dreams as a whole.
-
That would be great if it happened.

The game jam should definitely be like the "end game" of Dreams. You've come such a long way to learn how to make games, now you compete to make the most interesting one.

An easy temporary option is being able to skip obviously unrelated/inappropriate content. As it stands we have to slog though every batch of five entries. If I see the hundredth 'FNAF characters on a default brown cube thumbnail' I know it's not going to be worth my time.
