Live clone after the fact
Mm posted:
- Wanted a live clone but forgot to turn on Live Clone? We got you! Use L1+Triangle over a clone to make it a live one after the fact!
The instructions for making a clone a live clone are missing vital steps, as using L1 + triangle will delete the object. I am having no luck getting this to work. What is the actual step by step process for this?

That’s the correct button combo, but you do need to have the clone tool equipped in order to affect liveness.
If you’re still deleting rather than livening the clone, that means the two objects are no longer identical and cannot be made live.

I am either deleting it or nothing happens. I got it to to work ONCE but I dont know what I did, as I was trying lots of combinations. What are the step by step instructions for this?

Select the clone tool and turn Live Visuals On
Hover over one of your cloned objects and hold L1, all objects that can be made live will highlight in green. Anything not highlighted at this point cannot be made live.
Tap Triangle and liven all possible clones
If you have your prompts on in preferences, you’ll also get a pot up for L1+Triangle when you hover the clone tool over anything that can be made live ;)

Just had realized where the issue might be: if you’re trying to make a group live, that won’t work - it appears only to be available for individual sculptures and paintings.
I think that may not have been mentioned in the update notes and could be confusing, since you can make a live clone of a group when doing it that way from the start.

Having button prompts on should show the shortcut? I hope?
