I've made this spikes non-moveable and non collidable. I've grouped them all together. I've put the platform movement logic on this one group. Nothing moves although the spike animations work fine....

So it seems that @JimmyJules153's solution helps with 90 degree plane changes only and works on fixed scene axes. I still want to know how to manage this for 3 axes relative to the camera.
