Attached things to first person puppet are invisible
For some reason I'm having a problem with something that used to be simple. Basically I want to attach something to my first person puppet. I want it so that if I press say 'square' a hand will come into view and do an action. I've done this a few times simply enough by attaching a controller sensor to a timeline that powers on the hand which I've scoped onto my puppet.
I don't know if things have changed since the update? but now when I try to attach anything to a puppet its invisible when in first person. The hand has a watch, the text on the watch shows fine. The rest invisible.
I've set my puppet to play in a first person view by just altering the camera distance in the controller sensor in the puppet. If I change the distance to go 3rd person in can see what I've attached (the hand ect) fine. And it will stick to the puppet as intended.
I've tried it with the delux and blank puppets. I've tried it without the need to press a button to turn it on - still invisible in first person. I know it's a simple thing to do. I've done it and had a look at how I did it. I can't see where I'm now going wrong. Any ideas?

I've not tried this myself but is it possible your camera point of view is inside the puppet head with head still visible, could that cause things to not draw properly in front of the camera?

Yeah with a recent patch, having the default cam be super close means the whole puppet disappears, including anything inside it.

Yeah, a patch changed it. You used to be able to use any puppet, set it invisible, and attach things and have them still visible. It's still working this way on one of my older scenes I have. Basically I had to use the fps puppet to get around it. Guess it needed the independent camera. Took a good few hours to figure out that.

With invisibility you need to scope-attach the the object BEFORE making the other part invisible. If the object you are attaching to is already invisible the object you are attaching will also become invisible. In the first person Mm puppet the visible hands are a second pair of arms so they have one that is the invisible puppet and the arms that is the visible parts when you equip the gun. I managed to attach a watch to the arm and add a keyframe to lift it to view with no issues.

It looks like they've changed it. I just tried again using the standard delux puppet. Kept it visible. Set the camera distance to 0 so its first person. And attached another object to it... You still can't see the attached object even whilst the puppet is visible. You used to be able to... What's attached would be hovering there in front of you, stuck to you. But it's changed. The shadow still shows, but the object is invisible. If I do the same with mm's fps puppet it shows.
