A query about collections and managing locally saved content
Hi folks, i have put all my published content into a special collection and have published the collection.
But there are still duplicates of everything residing outside the collection folder on my PS4. If i want to delete the duplicates (ie everything not in the collection folder) locally from my PS4 it informs me that that will also affect one or more items in my collection.
Can i just delete everything i have published - including the collection itself - from my PS4 ...
... and then just grab my collection again from the dreamiverse and save it back to my PS4? Would that give me a nice tidy folder of my published content with no duplicates floating about outside the collection folder?
I think that would work but am reluctant to take the risk without confirmation so would appreciate any replies :)

When you place creations into a Collection it’s not making duplicates - the Collection is simply referencing the original creations. It’s like a playlist :)
Anything you save online, either by Releasing as Playable or by saving a private online version, will be there permanently. So once you’ve saved online it’s safe to delete your local saves.
All those individual creations will still be visible, but you can filter by local saves only. Also you can make your Released creations Unlisted if you don’t want other people seeing a whole lot of stuff on your profile. -
I think the reason for the warning is that those other creations use the *local version*. If you add a local-only chair to a scene, and then upload the chair... the scene is still looking for the local version. So you would go into the scene and use "update mode" to update the chair to the latest version (that is now stored online). Now you can go and delete that local version of the chair without the warning because *that version* is not being used; the online version is.
This applies to *any* creation type; that was just an example. Hope this helps. -
It’s worth noting that collections only contain links to the actual creations. *They do not contain creations themselves.* So if you delete a creation that was in a collection, the link in the collection that points to that creation will break.

Thanks to everyone who replied, esp Supposer who gave me the clarification i needed! Just need to make sure everything is updated before doing it and all should be good.
