Are there rules around grouping and collision?

  • CLOUD1985

I could be wrong but I think the ideal case here would to have all of these sections grouped together in a single group. All parts made non-moveable and non-collidable with all joints deed within the group. The group should be moveable. Add a small invisible block under the wheel set to collidable to simulate the wheel colliding with the ground (this my reduce the number of potential colliding issues when parts start to move). This approach may solve some of your problems.

    Nice idea, thanks.

I did actually work out what was wrong though. As stated above, I had attached the second joint to a small group of objects....therefore it was this small group that was considered the 'child piece' by Dreams (at least, that's what I think is happening), not any one piece that the joint was connected to. In fact, it surprised me to realise that the joint is not actually connected to any single piece....but rather to the group as a whole. Because of this, I just needed to open the tweak for this group and adjust the collide tab options to make sure the whole group would collide with the ground.
