Health modifier with missile hit not working?

So I've followed the videos tutorials for the health gadgets, several times but nothing in them is helping me to solve this problem.

I'm trying to have one character fire a missile that hits another and reduces its health. I've attached a health manager onto the object that I want to have the health. I've also attached a health modifier to the same object set to the impact method, I've even tried using the zone method.

I have another character firing balls at the object with the health manager, they just bounce of off the object and don't effect the health at all, nothing effects the health manager.

I've even tried connecting the health modifier to the missile I dont understand what I'm doing wrong, how do I get an object to lose health from an impact from an object?

  It seems I've figured it out by looking at someone else's project, you have to attach the health modifier to the missile, I did try that but maybe I didn't do it correctly or something. Anyway sorry.
