Decimal Numbers for Thermometer
-
that would be pretty neat
-
I would really appreciate adding this; I think 2 decimal places will be sufficient. Trying to make Elements Thermometer efficient is an important part of creation. You can kind of do it already with pure logic by making lots of clones and dividing by their number, however I feel this solution is sub-optimal. Particularly when multiple Variables and Variable Modifiers are involved, the Gameplayer Thermometer can grow in a non-linear way as the number of clones increases.
The type of Element that would most benefit from this is sculptures. It's fairly easy to make a sculpt with a cost of under 1%, but under this threshold, there's no easy way to accurately evaluate relative cost, because clones have no impact on graphics Thermo.
-
This would be cool. I think the reason it doesn't already have this is because the change would pop up every time you did pretty much anything, and may scare newer players ;p
-
Regarding a change in the number popping up every time you do something, this can be solved by only showing the precise number when you expand the Thermometer for more information. It can remain whole numbers for just hovering with the Imp.
-
To add to that as some already said; two places would be enough and it would be enough if you can the decimals if you hover over the Thermometer with your Imp
-
Yes please. When your thermo is showing 1% it could mean your element is anywhere between 0.5% or 1.49% (assuming it is rounded to the nearest whole number). This can make a huge difference.
-
It's a ceiling value, so 1% reported is 0 < n <= 1
-
I don't know why this isn't a feature yet. I think it would be easy to implement.
I've had values rounded up even when it was 0.1%. Seeing an accurate number would be really great and useful.

Hey, Everyone! 👋
Just in case you've not seen it already, I'm happy to say we've now expanded the thermometer to show up to 2 decimal places! Make sure you've downloaded Dreams' 2.32 update and then head on over to the thermometer's details page to view this when creating. 😊
