I’d like to see a gadget, or part of a speaker, as well as on the microphone input, have a simple multi- band spectrum output. This would be good for visualizers and perhaps games that auto detect notes to “play along” or simple voice detection.

    For what it's worth, due to the way Dreams works, this is supposedly really difficult to do. Mm knows we would like it; I think it's on the wishlist, but I'm not holding my breath.

    Basically because every tiny nuance of every sound is subject to all the logic that a designer can throw at it, in real time, possibly dependent on player input, you have to have created and output the sound before you can start to analyse it. (This is probably a very simplistic explanation but it's what I've got at short notice.)

    I’m sure the calculations for a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) to convert to frequency domain would kill the CPU.

    Are you talking about like a visual spectrum analyser, or do you mean something else?
