Censorship run amok

FYI "snatch" is a slang term in Britain also.

But yeah, the text censorship seems crazy sometimes. It's controlled by Sony though, I don't think Mm can do anything about it.

Mm can do nothing. Sony is not interested. I am afraid you will have to put up with the very very stupid profanity filter. Get a thesaurus,

The biggest mistake PlayStation ever made was moving to California.  Really should get back to Japan and loosen up a bit.

Not sure how you thesaurus movie titles.  Although that could be a game in and of itself

At least it's not as bad as the early days of LittleBigPlanet - you couldn't even say "here" or any of its superstrings like "where" and "there" because it's a non-english profanity.

But I've still encountered ridiculous cases like the name of one of a gadget's tweaks - a word that Mm themselves use in the game - being censored, which added pointless extra difficulty to the task of documenting how to wire up an element.

A thesaurus won’t help for movie titles :p

As Beardy said, this was an even bigger issue in LBP and people had to get creative with intentional spelling errors - which can get around the automated moderation but is also jarring for players. Got used to seeing the word “happen” as “hapen” or “hap’pen”

One thing you might do is break the offending word up over two text displayers and then line them up manually.

Would love to hear from whomever is going around downvoting all my posts, why do you think censorship is good?  And not to be confrontational, i am seriously always willing to hear all perspectives.

Censorship is indeed ridiculous. You can say any word you want in dreams by using 2 text displayers, its not hard, but really proves the point that censorship is pointless and only HARMS creators and people who play the game. Mm should of just taken an M rating instead of imposing limits on their creators and what they can make AGAIN. I shouldnt have to worry about foreign slurs embeded in words when you can literally put 2 text boxes together to make literally any slur under the sun.

    -persevere (because, Finnish)

And what's up with censoring the strings "x03" and "x3" if and only if they're part of the Unicode mark up for a Greek letter in the 0x0003## block? It's not as if you can't type Greek letters another way - you can temporarily set your PS4's system language to Greek and you'll get a Greek virtual keyboard that you can use to type them without using Unicode mark up - but that's pointless extra difficulty when you only wanted one Greek letter for an equation to explain what a logic gadget does.
