Signal lost at respawn

Hello

I would like to know if the following can be done. I have a car that I "own" for control, and which I accelerate with the R2 button. When this car "dies" and respawns... if I haven't released R2 in the middle of that process, I have to release R2 and press it again after respawning for the car to detect that I'm accelerating again...

 

Can I make the car accelerate with R2, then die, and without releasing R2 at any point in the process, accelerate again from the moment it respawns?

    Ah yes, this is a common problem people who make racing games often don't notice/fix. It also happens when loading a new scene and you're still holding R2, like the triggers are blocked when the controller sensor "begins" to work.

    Use a secondary controller sensor in "remote control" mode, outside of the car. Wire in its R2 as normal. Now the controller sensor won't "begin," and so won't block the trigger from the start.
