BUG REPORT: Multiplayer - latest player to possess object does not respawn.
TITLE
Multiplayer - latest player to possess object does not respawn.
DESCRIPTION
When two players possess two different objects the player that possesses last will not respawn when they die under most conditions.
ENVIRONMENT
This bug was seen to occur on:
Dreams Release Versions - 2.51, 2.52, 2.53
PS4 Original
System Software 10.01
REPRODUCTION RATE
5/5 - 100%
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
- Launch “Dreams” v2.53 and start a new creation.
- Stamp two puppets >2m away from each other.
- Enter Play mode and connect another user.
- Have one player possess any puppet, then have the remaining player possess the remaining puppet.
- Have the second player kill their puppet.
EXPECTED OUTCOME
The second player should respawn, which is what happens if the first player in this scenario were to kill their puppet.
ACTUAL OUTCOME
The second player does not respawn unless the first player moves within roughly 2m of the second player's expected spawn point.
OR if the first player also kills their puppet and respawns it will trigger the second player’s respawn.
As well as the respawn bug, if Dreams is switched into Edit mode during the period when the respawn bug is occurring; Edit mode will start with the time running and the player will not be able to pause time unless the entire scene is reset.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Bug behaviour is the same when:
- Either connected user plays either role.
- Using either a checkpoint or default spawn point.
- Possessing either a puppet or a non-puppet object.
Behaviour for more than two players is not known.

Very nice bug report format.

In case you need this fixed quickly I'd just like to say that this was reported nearly 3 years ago on the old forums. If you need this to work for a project don't expect it to work when you need it, you should look into using remote controlled controller sensors and using emitters instead of checkpoints.
