Live Clone Logic

    Great answers

    This would be great!

You can also do things like have the logic in an element, edit the element, and update the scene. Though I usually just emit the logic too--easier to make changes and test.

I think a "broadcast microchip" from LBP3 would be a much more elegant solution.

Instead of physically copying>drag>drop, you could simply put down a tag to which the broadcast microchip would send/emit the logic that is inside him.

Hate to come back with the “you can already do it” reply, because I really think is a missing feature of Dreams; we should definitely be able to live clone entire “things” including logic…

But, yeah it’s quite painless to work around. Albeit not practical for many scenarios. Especially stuff like visualising level design.

So the technique is this, create a placeholder cube. It’s job is to simply emit your sculpt+logic and then destroy the placeholder. Now, instead of placing your character or thing around the scene, you copy the placeholder. At the start of the scene, all the placeholders will be replaced with a clone of your single logic chip.

So you can do it, but really, in a game dev environment or something that has the idea of “things” (objects).. we should really be able to create fully fledged blueprints.

… without having to resort to leaving the scene your editing, or using work around (above).
