Hmm - tried x-ray which shows the object when you tweak,the emitter. But I can’t hover over the emitted item and tweak it.

Do you have a link to yours? I think I turned off gravity on the host object (ship) and then added a force applier connected to the X button on a controller. Force applier pointing in the direction...

For,general raycast info there is a really nice interactive scene that explains various elements of it - search in contraptions for raycast.

There is a visible footprints scene out there which I think is remixable - you could take that and adapt the footprints to a splash effect?
