I want to colour my objects to look more realistic
I am not understanding how to paint my objects. Paint mode creates paint strokes in their own 3d space and does not attach themselves to my object. Tint will only colour it in one solid colour, while spray paint creates square blocks of solid colour. I cant seem to get an actual "spray" at all. Also if I move the object the paint stays where it is. I need someway to add texture, all my objects look very simplistic and toy like. Will there be some tutorials on this at some point?

Hi LadyLexUK! While Spray paint is just a solid colour, Sculpts have a texture based in their "Fleck". Increase the Looseness of a Sculpt to see bigger Flecks, and then play around with the Style Mode, increasing Impasto for example.
When you say that if you move the object the paint stays where it is, are you still inside Sculpt Mode? If so, this is normal, as you're moving the different basic elements that compose the Sculpt, including the Paint elements.
Scope out of Sculpt Mode to move the object around and you'll see that it retains its paint.
Hope this was helpful.

Hi,
The spray paint has a blend amount just like soft blend, and opacity so you can paint really realistic textures :)

Thank you I will experiment.

Yes I also have this issue, I want to make a more realistic woodgrain texture but can't find a way to spray this on my object.
I will also try again to figure it out. Let me know if you found out something. -
I cannot really work this out at all. Most of the time spray paint makes a noise but doesn't do anything. I also could not understand the mixing of colours - I have seen Kareem use this a lot, but it did not tint my object in anything other than one colour. As for impasto and looseness etc, all that seems to do is make objects fluffy. What with the thermometer maxing out everytime I make anything this is getting very frustrating.

Okay this is how you do it.
1. Do NOT use Coat. If you have coated an item spraypaint will not show. You can remove it in the object settings but most of the time just don't use it.
2. When you select spraypaint it will spray a solid colour onto your object in the shape you have chosen.
3. To get a "spray" you need to alter the blend amount and opacity. L2+O will take you to the menu to alter those.
4. I find a sphere to be pretty good for most situations. Shrink down to get finer detail.
