Look at rotator max distance
So my game is big! From what I can see it is roughly 6km end to end and as it's a flight game the action happens in a 3d space. As it can be almost impossible to spot enemies I have built a 3d arrow on the hud which points towards the nearest enemy. It works great until you destroy the nearest guy and the next nearest aircraft happens to be over 1000m away, as the look at rotator wont update itself. Is there any way to extend out the max distance of this gadget? Or can anybody think of an alternative method? I was thinking about taking the coordinates from scene space in the player and enemy tags as this is their position in the world vs mine, but how would I translate this to rotating the arrow???

On your look at rotator, instead of entering a tag name, you can use the tag position input on the inputs and outputs tab. It ignores min/max distance.
Connect the scene space transform output of your enemy's tag to a wireless transmitter. Then connect a wireless receiver to the target position input of the look at rotator. Set the receiver's zone shape to scene.
Alternatively, you can subtract the scene space position of one tag (B, enemy) from another (A, player), which will give you a vector of length AB that you can do all sorts of things with if you feel like dabbling in vector math. -
Try scaling up the rotator gadget itself. Any distances and measurement settings in a gadget are multiplied by the gadget's scale.

'@Supposer, nice! I didn't know that scaled the limits. Does that work if you scale it up and put it into a microchip, I wonder?

As always, this place is super helpful! I shall try both of the below methods and see what happens :-)

You could also try a laser scope set to look at tag.
Give all enemy's an identical tag and the laser scope will always point at the closest one.
Some minor tweaks would add a visual aid to show which direction the scope is pointing. -
We are in business! The look at rotator is huge but now scans out to over 6km. End to end the map is 8×8km! As soon as you destroy a plane, my trusty 3d hud arrow rotates to the nearest bogey :-)
