Rotating object from a single point-Move controllers

I've seen from YouTube tutorials that people on the Duel Shock can grab an object by a point and accurately rotate it on that axis using R2. Is there a similar control for the move controllers?

  You can grab anything and rotate it from that point using the primary trigger.
  
  If you want more precision, try turning on precise move (menu > guides).
