How to power something on or off in a keyframe.
I have tried running a trigger zone and square button to an "and gate" then to the keyframe powering the object on. Does not work. Replaced the keyframe with a timeline, does not work. Tried running a counter after the gate thinking maybe its wanting me to hold the button, didnt work. Tried replacing the keyframe/timeline with a wire directly from the "and gate" to the power. No luck. Tried all of these same things trying to turn the power off instead, also failed. I can get the same exact setup to work with a destroyer to make it disappear, but I need some way to then make an animation happen "because i have this item". I have a very VERY low skill level. Please any help would be awesome! Please speak in the simplest terms possible! Most answers I have gotten so far are just way too complicated or dont work for me. Could also use some kind of combat guide to deal damage but that's for another thread! Please and thank you so much everyone!

So, if I have this straight, you're trying to use a keyframe to control the Power of another gadget and it's not working? Did you check and make sure the keyframe is set to edit the power setting on the gadget you wanted?
You are correct in assuming that the keyframe will only be powered while its inputs are on (button is still held, or character is still in trigger zone) and it won't stay in that state once the inputs turn off, unless you set the keyframe to "keep changes."
I'm guessing maybe the problem is you're not possessing the controller sensor? In the case of a controller button, your imp must be possessing the controller sensor by entering play mode, pointing the imp at the object the controller sensor is attached to, and pressing R2. If you want it to work without possessing the object the controller sensor is on, you'll need to set the controller sensor to "remote control" mode. Remote Control will also detect your button presses in edit mode while time is passing.
For dealing damage, check out the health tutorial in the Dreams Workshop in-game tutorial section.
If that doesn't help, can you provide more details about what specifically you're trying to do, and the current state of your logic that is trying to accomplish it?
You said "I need some way to then make an animation happen 'because i have this item'" but that doesn't clarify what your current logic is, i.e. what gadgets are connected to what. -
Why not wire the output of your AND gate directly to the power input in question?
