How do i remove mirror on puppet while sculpting?
Whenever i try to sculpt one of my characters hands to be different the other one copies the exact same sculpt. Mirror mode is off on the puppet and on the sculpt menu but it still copies it. Im sure im missing something obvious but its driving me insane!

It's his Warhammer Orc character.

Do you have to scope in one more level? Just guessing as I haven’t done much character work. Maybe when you scope into a duplicated part like hands/feet, it initially scopes into both for ease of making changers to both? So try L1+X again to see if it drills in further

Hi,
When scoped into a puppet, on the right hand side there are options to turn off mirroring
John -
No John, the whole problem is that mirroring is off and he has no idea what's causing the mirroring. I tried it myself and I've got no idea. It seemed very strange. Have a look and see for yourself.

I tried that John is still copying the design on both of his hands. Mirror is 100% off

Hi both,
There are 2 diff mirror types in puppet work
One for mirroring sculpting at the sculpt level, say a symmetrical face.
This is the mirror found in the guides up top.
Then there is puppet mirroring down below on the right for posing.
But I think maybe what you are hitting is the live clone feature which is auto added onto puppet limbs.
Try this
Scope into your puppet, select the clone tool from the menu.
Then hover over the part you don't want to mirror and press shift + triangle to un-liven it.
Hope that helps

That did work! thank you so much! I thought i would never figure it out!
-
any idea on how to liven it again?
-
Hey,
Unfortunately at the moment there is no "re-liven" ability, as live clones only work if the two objects are identical -- i.e. it just makes one sculpt be an exact copy of another. So if you want them to be identical, you have to keep them live, and unliven only if you want them to have differences.
