How do I record sound using the PS4 Camera? And a couple other music questions/comments/glitches

    Another comment to add! -
It's nice having the musical previews on instruments when you are browsing to find a new instrument. But it would be nice also if there was a toggle to switch between having a 'musical preview' such as there are now (ie. when you hover over a drum kit you hear a specific quick beat, or hovering over a guitar you hear a specific little riff played), to having a 'technical preview', where you would just hear the sound of a few different notes on the instrument without any 'musical organisation'.

    Glitch -
I copied a music clip on the timeline, to make a new clip using the same instrument (deleted the notes on the copy). The copied clip has the same BPM listed as the original clip, is on the timeline (as is/was the original clip), but the metronome is off sync. I double checked, and the metronome of the copied clip works right, it's just the copy that seems to have a 'broken' metronome.

Hey! So - the PS4 camera should work as a mic. If you got no sound when recording, check the sound input settings on the PS4 - settings, devices, audio devices.

to move an existing field, you need to use the move tool - the instruments automatically put you into performance mode when opened, which stops you moving fields (in perf mode all the buttons are use for music performance). You can exit performance mode by pressing L1 and circle. Then you should see arrows appear on the tip of the imp, and be able to move and edit your fields.

re BPM on timelines, all clips stamped on a timeline use the tempo slider as a percentage of the timeline. If they are set to anything other than 100%, they will have a different tempo to the timeline itself! this allows you to mix clips with different timelines. just press triangle over the tempo on the clip to reset the tempo and your clips will use the tempo of the timeline..

    Glitch -
Dragging in the piano roll also drags in the region that's on the timeline (not sure if this happens always or if it's just sometimes). The space being dragged in on the piano roll does not coincide with the region. Ie., on the piano roll I'm dragging in a bunch of blank space, but on the timeline it's dragging in the music clip/region where there are notes.

    Thanks for the responses Tom!

Camera - Whoops, I had the mic muted! ;p I'll try again but I imagine it will work now!

Moving fields - I wonder if it might be more intuitive to have it so when you hold L1, you can move fields even in performance mode? You can delete fields by holding L1 and pressing triangle in performance mode, so I think this was what really confused me, it seemed like I should therefore also be able to move it at that point because it becomes selectable.

BPM on timelines - Yeah, I understand that (which is pretty neat!) But in this case, the tempos are all set to 100%, but for some reason the metronome is messed up on the one clip and is offset. I'm having similar strange issues that happen here and there with the timing seeming to become messed up after copying a clip and trying to work in that copied clip. Probably I need to record a video for you to see.

Also - it would help us a lot if you can post anything you think is a bug/glitch in the bugs section. You may well have found some issues which we would want to investigate further! Thanks!

I don't have a PS4 camera, is there some way to attach a microphone?
