How do I sidechain music?

I set up a keyframe to duck the volume of an instrument. I then wired the 'note on' output from the kick drum into the keyframe's power. The weird thing is that it works for the first note but not for any others...

  Nevermind, I figured it out. I didn't have the keyframe stretched over the entire timeline.

  Just so you know, there are sidechaining settings on the instruments themselves, to do this for you.
