Change button controller uses for animation
Basically I am trying to set up an animation system where I can animate in layers similar to the way I use to in a software called Muvizu. The way it works is that you direct /animate body parts one at a time to build up the whole movement - eye direction, eyelids, head movement, arm movement, walking etc.
Now I've experimented with keyframing each part in its own timeline and this works a treat but the missing ingredient is being able trigger these animations without triggering the other ones.
For example -
Imagine I have L3 setup to rotate the eye ball (something I'm also still trying to figure out!) and I record that movement
Then I want to use L3 to move the head around and record that movement. The question is how do I change the usage of L3 without affecting something that it has been assigned to previously?

You could probably set up multiple controller gadgets with different setups depending on what you were animating. You could then power on the one with the control scheme you want at the time and power off any others. I presume that would work.
