Music input for a non-musical person who has spent years toying with trackers
Although I've been enjoying playing around with live music sequencing, I doubt I'll get much useful out of that and time soon, although it's manageable with heavy editing. As most music-related stuff I've done as been with old 4- and 16-channel trackers, manually drawing the notes works best for me - but I seem to be missing out on a lot of the fun fx possibilities playing live offers. Anyone suggest what the best way to add fx like pitch bending and tremolo might be for someone wanting to approach music creation from a very slow, painstaking and non-gifted perspective?

I think you might be able to add effects via the tweak menu on individual notes on the piano roll.
Otherwise you can trigger effects with logic or put them directly on the timeline I think. -
Try adding effect field to your timeline! Or keyframing/animating sound parameters along to the music.
